# Badges

### **What are Badges?**

Badges on Releap allow projects to reward community members and increase engagement using On-Chain Credential modules.

On-Chain Credentials function as a digital record for your blockchain activities. In addition, credentials are proof of a person's abilities, accomplishments, character traits, or other components of their background.

Credentials can be used to identify key actions that you may want to reward. Projects and individual users can create a campaign that allows users to mint customized badges. These badges can be used in addition to marketing campaigns, as a Proof-of-Interaction and more.

#### Use Cases

* A commemorative badge for the launch of a project
* Badges can be used as a Whitelist pass
* A badge for listeners who join a specific space
* A badge for users who donate to a good cause
* And more

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.releap.io/releap-protocol/releap-app/badges.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
